Our Siams inspection report has been published today. We are delighted to have been given an overall good with one of the three areas awarded outstanding.

Welcome to Banks Methodist Primary school website.

Our school is a small, friendly school where our children achieve well in a caring and supportive atmosphere.  Our school has excellent links with the chapel next door to the school and also with the local community.

Our curriculum is rich and varied and we seek to give our children the best possible education in school, whilst teaching them the importance of working together and respect for each other.

We are very proud of our school and welcome prospective parents to come and look around and see what we have to offer your child.

The Queen's Tea Party

We had an amazing time at our celebration for the Queen's 90th birthday party. Over 100 people were together in school to enjoy the festivities! There was a mix of children, parents, grandparents, members of our church and the local community. We also had a special visitor: Carolyn. Carolyn brought with her a 116 year old trowel, which was presented to her grandfather when he laid the final stone in the building of our school. What an amazing gift to give to our school! We will treasure it. It was also lovely to receive a photograph of her grandfather to put with the trowel. We raised almost £100 at the event, which we will be donating to Alder Hey hospital at the request of the Gilboy family.

Thank you to everyone who donated.

Rose Queen

Our annual crowning of the Rose Queen was held in church on the last Friday in May. It was lovely to see Daisy and her consort Nathan with their retinue from reception. A big thank you to Miss Betty Blundell who crowned Daisy. Miss Blundell has been a foundation governor for our school for many years and it was wonderful to be able to thank her for all her commitment to our school in this way.

On Wednesday our nursery and reception children will be going on their first ever school trip to Windmill animal farm. We are looking foward to having a great day.

This year our nursery children will be visiting Windmill Animal Farm on Wednesday 22nd June and our year 1 - 6 children will be visiting Underwater World on Wednesday 29th June. We can't wait!

Young voices

What an amazing time we all had at the Young Voices concert at the phones 4 U Arena in Manchester on Thursday night. A real treat to have Alexandra Burke appear on our night. Can't wait to see the DVD!
